Corti a Ponte in Italy to screen ‘Numbness’

Iranian feature ‘Numbness’ is to be screened at the Corti a Ponte international film festival in Italy.

Iranian feature ‘Numbness’ is set to be screened at the 15th edition of the Corti a Ponte international film festival in Italy.

‘Numbness’ by Hossein Mahkam will take part in the Italian festival’s Fiction category.

The film is about Jalal, a dropout, who realizes that his sister Mary, is married to a wealthy man named Shahrokh. Angered Jalal leaves his house, and decides to go to the house of his friend Bahman

On his way to Bahman’s house, Jalal meets a strange taxi driver named Nasser and strange incidents occur afterwards.

Earlier reports said ‘Our Alley Sparrows’ by Zhivar Farajzadeh, ‘The Statue’ by Mohsen Salehi Fard, ‘Psycho’ by Mostafa Davtalab, and ‘Raya’ by Sepideh Berenji will also participate in the Italian event.

The Corti a Ponte is “unique in Italy for the presence of a large international section dedicated to children and young people, with projections of short films made by children and young people from all over the world selected for quality and cultural value”, the festival’s website reads.

The upcoming edition of the festival will take place on May 9-21, 2022.
