Iranian movie 'Filicide' has been welcomed at the Cinematheque big screen in Vancouver, Canada. 

Mohammad-Hadi Karimi’s latest directorial experience was screened in Canadian cinemas on March 20, 21 and 28, 2022.

The Canadian audiences welcomed the 93-minute film.

The screening was organized by the Pacific United Productions under the direction of Amir Hoshang Hashemi.

'Filicide' tells the story of a social and enigmatic story chronicles the hardships of the 1960s and 1990s and points to a misconception that has overshadowed family life for decades.

Zhaleh Sameti, Bahareh Kian-Afshar and Leila Otadi are among the cast team of the film. 

Produced by Sadeq Yari, 'Filicide' made its debut screening at the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The flick was also screen at the 18th Oregon Short Film Festival in the US in June 2021.

Founded in 1972, the Cinematheque is a Canadian film institute, media education center, and film exhibitor based in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The organization’s mission is “to foster the appreciation of the art and legacy of cinema, and to advance critical thinking and thoughtful education about the impact of moving-images and screen-based media in society,” according to an official note.
