New Iranian short film ‘Why Plastic’ has been released.
Directed by Asghar Besharati, the 100-second short film is about the destructive and contaminative effects of plastic on the marine environment.
“Do you never ask yourself about our destructive effects in nature?,” reads as a brief synopsis of the flick.
‘Why Plastic’ won some awards at various global festivals, including the best short film award at the OFF Awards - Odense International Film Festival in Denmark and the best short film award at the Max3Min Jury Award in Italy.
Besharti started his artistic career in the field of photography in 2007 by capturing the pristine natural landscapes of Iran’s Qeshm Island; and has now become an ambassador to introduce Iran to the world.
He extended his work by photographing the wonders of the underwater world and then turned to filmmaking, the result of which has been the production of 12 short films.
