Iran’s ‘The Red Fire’ to vie at River filmfest in Italy

Iranian ‘The Red Fire’ is to take part in the River filmfest in Italy.

Iranian short animation ‘The Red Fire’ has been scheduled to take part in the 2022 edition of the River Film Festival (RiFF) in Italy.

Directed by Mona Shahi, the 11-minute animation will be among the competition titles at the 16th edition of the Italian event.

A brief synopsis for ‘The Red Fire’ reads, “The Darkness Demon has swept over the world, trying to set the ending of Light unlike the earlier promises and prophecies. It is in such an era that a flock of Red birds travel in search of the Red Fire; a Fire that according to the prophecies, wipes out the blackness and puts an end to the constant eclipse and absence of the Sun. But where are they going to find the Red Fire?”

The short film has already participated in a number of global events, including the Hiroshima International Animation Festival in Japan, the Spark Animation festival in Canada, and the Tehran International Animation Festival in Iran.

The RiFF hosts a wide range of works from around the world and provides an opportunity for filmmakers, screenwriters, and many experts to exchange experiences.

The 16th edition of the festival, slated for June 1-13, 2022, will also host Iranian short film ‘Identibye’ directed by Sajjad Shahhatami.
