Zanzibar filmfest to show Iran’s ‘The Third Person’

The 25th edition of the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF) in Tanzania has been slated to host Iranian short film ‘The Third Person’.

Directed by Pouya Aminpouri, the film will be shown at the Short Films section of the Tanzanian event.

‘The Third Person’ is about a psychopath who escapes from a sanatorium in the northern forests of Iran, and the nearby patrol units follow him on the surrounding roads.

The short flick has been screened at a number of global events, including the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea, the Lund Fantastic Film Festival in Sweden and the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

According to the official website of the event, the ZIFF is an annual filmfest which accepts “some of the most captivating and cutting-edge cinema from Africa and beyond… from world-premiers to local shorts”.

The 25th ZIFF is slated for June 16-26, 2022 in Stonetown, Zanzibar.
