Dutch police prevents Ammar Festival film screenings

Dutch police prevent screenings sessions to be held for films from an Iran-based filmfest.

Police in the Netherlands have prevented screening seesions for films from Ammar Popular Film Festival to be held in the European country.

The decision to ban the screenings of Ammar Film Festival in different cities in the Netherlands came after the organizer obtained all necessary authorizations.

A collection containing chosen films from different editions of Ammar Film Festival was scheduled to be screened in the Netherlands on Thursday and Friday June 22 and 23 in conjunction with Quds International Day.

Ammar International Popular Film Festival goes against promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,”  official website for the event's international section noted.

The seventh Ammar Popular Film Festival is held on December 28, 2016.
