India's int'l cartoon competition awards Iranian cartoonist

Iranian cartoonist Ehsan Cheraghi has come first in the 14th International Maya Kamath Memorial Competition in India.

Ehsan Cheraghi, a prominent Iranian cartoonist and holder of several top titles in global cartoon contests, succeeded to win the Certificate of Merit in the 2022 Maya KAMATH Memorial Awards For Excellence In Political Cartooning.

As one of the leading Iranian artists in the field of caricature, Cheraghi has always expressed his protest against the hegemonic rule of the world in the form of caricatures in international festivals.

Organized by Indian Institute of Cartoonists, the International Maya Kamath Memorial Political Cartoon Festival is annually held in India.  

The winners of this year's festival, which marked the 15th anniversary of the IIC India Cartoon Gallery and the Exhibition of Foreign Cartoons, were announced on May 15, 2022.
