First complete Spanish translation of Shahnameh unveiled

Dr. Beatriz Salas, a Spanish professor at Tehran Islamic Azad University, has translated Ferdowsi’s epic masterpiece 'Shahnameh' (The Book of Kings) into Spanish.

It is the first complete Spanish translation of 'Shahnameh' which is the world’s longest epic poem created by a single poet.

Beatriz de Salas spent more than ten years translating the masterpiece into Spanish. The final translation was unveiled on June 7 at Iran’s National Museum in Tehran.

Persian scholars consider Ferdowsi’s epic masterpiece as a preserving force in keeping the Persian language and culture alive.
