Hamid Farrokhnejad awarded at Amsterdam Septimius

The 2022 Septimius Awards in Amsterdam awards Iranian actor Hamid Farrokhnejad.

The 2022 Septimius Awards in Amsterdam has bestowed the best actor award on Iranian actor Hamid Farrokhnejad.

Farrokhnejad grabbed the award for his staggering role in ‘Major’ directed by the Iranian filmmaker Ehsan Abdipour.

‘Major’, which made its debut screening at the Fajr Film Festival (FFF) in Iran, competed in the Asian section of the Dutch screening film event.

Jafari’s award-winning film is captured in Bushehr City in the south of Iran.

‘Major’ is about some illegal activities in a harbor city, which gets disturbed as a police dog comes into the story. The dog knows no negotiation and does not deal with anyone.

Farrokhnejad alongside some local actors, including Arash Maleki, Iraj Saghiri, Asghar Javadi, Hamid Baghaki, and Abbas Kamran make the cast list of the flick.

‘Major’ was previously screened at the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.

Previously known as NVIFF, the Septimius Awards aims to discover and encourage new independent talents.

It also seeks to “support visionary films and bring together all elements of film-making and storytelling, which includes fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series, and scripts. It showcases a wide range of genres from Drama to Documentary,” writes the event’s official website.

The 2022 edition of the event was held on June 6-7 in the Netherlands.
