Amir Jadidi joins Academy Awards

Iranian award-winning actor Amir Jadidi has been selected as a new member of the Academy Awards.

The Oscars has released the list of 397 cinema artists as the new members of the Academy Awards and Amir Jadidi’s name is on the list of the acting section.

Jadidi began his acting career with the movie 'Africa' (2010). Since then, he has been in the spotlight numerous times over the past few years, receiving lots of praise for his top-notch performances.

Jadidi’s achievement was the Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor award at the 36th Fajr Film Festival for his role in the movies 'The Lost Strait' (2018) and 'Cold Sweat' (2018).

The name of Iranian documentarian Firoozeh Khosravani is also on the list.

“The Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit in the film industry. They are regarded by many as the most prestigious and significant awards in the entertainment industry worldwide,” the media wrote.

The 94th Oscars was held on March 27 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood and was televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.
