Anzali Lagoon, sight to behold in summer

Anzali Lagoon in Iran’s northern province of Gilan is a sight to behold in summer.

Anzali Lagoon near Anzali port serves as an important and largest natural habitat for living organisms in Iran.

Each year, at the end of June, lotus plants float on the surface of the wetland. The plant is one of the unique features of the pond.

The wetland is a habitat of many aquatics. Different species of native and migratory birds are also found there.
