Iran’s ‘Dribble’ to vie at Italian Giffoni festival

Iranian short ‘Dribble’ is to vie at the 52nd Giffoni Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian short film ‘Dribble’ has made its way to the 52nd edition of the Giffoni Film Festival (GFF) in Italy.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘Dribble’, co-directed by Nazafarin Hassanpour and Ali Lavari Monfared, will compete in the Italian event.

The film is about two brothers who are at odds with each other because of their mutual passion for soccer, but football is the only way to bring them closer together.

The film is starring Mehdi Mokarian and Mohammad Norouzi.

The Giffoni Film Festival is reportedly the largest children’s film festival in Europe and one of the most well-known children's film festivals in the world.

The GFF was founded in 1971 with the aim of “promoting and developing cinema for young people elevating it from the marginal position it had back in those days, and leading it where it belongs”, the event’s website reads.

The 52nd edition of the festival will take place on July 21-30, 2022.
