Iranians observe Eid al-Adha

Millions of Iranians have celebrated Eid al-Adha on Sunday.

The Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha honors the virtues of submission, self-sacrifice, and kindness, marking the conclusion of the Hajj pilgrimage.

The joyous occasion is celebrated based on the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command.
