Bosnia held mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (AS)

Bosnia and Herzegovina along with other parts of the world has held Muharram mourning ceremonies commemorating Imam Hussein's (AS) martyrdom.  

The ceremonies, titled ‘Ashura Awakens the World’, were held for three nights at the Persian-Bosnian College with many lovers of Imam Hussein (AS) in attendance.

Among the programs featured at the ceremony were recitation of the holy Quran, delivering speeches, reciting prayers, and playing Tawasheeh (an Islamic religious song).

Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred along with 72 of his companions at the battle of Karbala more than thirteen centuries ago.

Today, the life of Imam Hussein (AS) is honored by millions across the world while the account of his enemies is nearly lost in oblivion.

The story of Imam Hussein (AS) tells us that the majority is not always right. Even if the army of truth is small in number, it still is grand in what it stands for.
