Cinema iFilm highlights ‘The Scout’ by Ebrahim Hatamikia.

Cinema iFilm has highlighted ‘The Scout’ written and directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia.

A 1988 production with a war theme, the story of the movie takes place during the war imposed on Iran by Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

A number of Iranian soldiers are trapped in an ambush and are on the verge of losing the area.

A scout risks his life and passes through a route which is under heavy fire in order to find the soldiers and help them escape.

‘The Scout’ cast list includes Mehrdad Soleimani, Alireza Heidari, Gholamreza Ali-Akbari, Asghar Pour-Hajarian, Esmaeil Soltanian, Saeed Javanshir, Hossein Kiani, and Hamid-Reza Soltanian.

The movie received the best directing award at the 7th Fajr Film Festival in 1988.

Its director, Hatamikia was born in 1961 and studied Scriptwriting and began his career with writing screenplays for short films about the eight-year Iraq-Iran war in the 1980s.

He directed his first feature film ‘Identity’ in 1986 and established himself as a director who addresses issues pertaining to the Iraq-Iran war and its aftermath.

Hatamikia has made a number of movies, including ‘Mohajer’, ‘Scent of Joseph's Shirt’, ‘Minou Tower’, ‘Low Heights’ and ‘Bodyguard’, as well as series such as ‘Scarlet Soil’ and ‘The Green Ring’.

He was nominated several times and has so far received a number of domestic and international awards for his movies.
