Written and directed by Sheida Kashi, the eight-minute animation grabbed the second top prize of the event’s 31st run presided by Nikolay Burlyaev and held in Sevastopol, Russia.
‘Irreversible’ is a 2D animation, which took around two years to be produced.
A brief synopsis for the flick reads, “A country has been invaded and occupied by the forces of another country. There only remains one survivor, who, has been trying hard to redefine the alienated meaning of their life”.
The film’s director told the media that her choice of subject for the film has roots in the great impact nostalgia has on people’s lives. She is after explaining the path different individuals will take after their homeland has been colonized and the deep-rooted meaning of their life has been lost.
Previously, the film has taken part in the Athens Animfest in Greece and the International Youth Film Festival “Light to the World” (Kinofest) in Russia.
The 31st SFI Golden Knight International Film Festival accepted films made from 2020 to 2022.
