‘The Ring’ competes at Fenacies filmfest

Iranian short film ‘The Ring’ has been screened at the Student Film Festival Fenacies in Uruguay.

The film was selected to vie at the main competition section of the 12th edition of the event held on September.

A number of 370 films have requested to partake at the competition section of the event, among which 181 films representing 17 countries were selected.

‘The Ring’, which focuses on the destructive effects of war and its survivors, had previously won the Award of Merit at the Accolade Global Film Competition in the US.

‘The life of an old man is challenged by his lost ring,’ a short synopsis of the film reads.

Launched in 2011, the Student Film Festival Fenacies aims to create a cinema festival specifically to youth, where competition would be fair and creativity and effort of these would be valued.

The 2022 edition of the festival was held on September 5-11.

The winners of various sections of the festival are yet to be announced.
