Iran's cultural attache in Italy, Pescara municipality and Iran's Zurkhaneh sports, and Pahlevani wrestling federation were among the attendees of the event.
Iran's Pahlevani wrestlers appeared on stage with masterful movements of holding the shaft or meel, throwing the shaft, and wrestling, along with the beat and song of the Morshed or guru, or sport conductor.
Last week, other Iran's Pahlevani team participated in the 20th edition of the international festival of traditional street games and sports called “Tocatì” in Verona, and performed several shows that were welcomed by Italians and tourists.
Traditional sports or Zurkhaneh sports, which can be translated roughly to the house of power or Iranian gymnasium, are considered as some of the oldest manifestations of the ancient Iranian culture.
Iranian traditional sports are globally registered in the name of Iran by UNESCO.
