Directed by Majid Majidi, the movie portrays the life of Islam’s Holy Prophet and narrates the early years of his prophecy in Mecca. This is the first part of a trilogy based on the life story of the Prophet.
‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’ initially sets in a time when Muslims were boycotted in an area called “She’eb Abi Talib”. From the very beginning, the film starts with a flashback to events surrounding the prophet’s pre-birth and adolescence.
The story of Abraha and his attack on Mecca as well as the prophet’s birth and his mother’s death after giving birth to Muhammad (PBUH) are some of the main sequences.
The impressive work ends with the first journey of the prophet to the Levant in today’s Syria where he visited a Christian monk who foretold Prophethood for him.
Mohsen Tanabandeh, Sareh Bayat, Alireza Shoja-Nouri, Daryoush Farhang, Mehdi Pakdel, and Mina Sadati are on the cast list of the movie.
The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Camerimage in Poland honored the movie with Outstanding Cinematic Duo Award for Vittorio Storaro and Majidi.
