Busan Film Fest in S. Korea awards ‘Scent Of Wind’

The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea has awarded Iranian feature film ‘Scent Of Wind’.

Directed by Hadi Mohaqeq, the flick has received the KIM Jiseok Award of the Korean event’s 27th edition.

The film’s participation in the festival marked its international premiere.

Actor-director Mohaqeq stars in the film as a handicapped man who has to go from town to town to replace a broken electrical part, according to Screen Daily.

Scent Of Wind' shows how the Asian cinema aesthetic represented by Abbas Kiarostami or Hou Hsiao Hsien has been inherited and carried on in the 21st century,” the BIFF festival director Huh Moonyung said, hailing Mohaqqeq as “a master of the next Asian generation”.

Mohaqqeq previously won the New Currents Award and Fipresci Prize at the BIFF in 2015 for his film ‘Immortal’.

The 27th edition of the BIFF took place on October 5-14.
