Pomegranate festival underway in Tehran village

A harvest festival dedicated to pomegranates has been opened in the village of Tochal in Tehran Province.

The third edition of the pomegranate festival kicked off on October 19, 2022 in Tochal Village (of Pakdasht County) and will run through October 21.  

The purpose of holding this festival is to help develop rural tourism and promote agricultural tourism in Pakdasht County.

Every year in autumn, many Iranian pomegranate farmers hold such festivals to thank God and celebrate the harvest season.

Pomegranate has a cultural-religious significance among Iranians. It is a symbol of life and fertility owing to their many seeds.
