Early Bird Fest in Bulgaria to host Iran’s ‘Runner’

The Early Bird Int’l Student filmfest in Bulgaria is to screen Iran’s ‘Runner’.

The Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria has been slated to screen Iranian short flick ‘Runner’.

Directed by Seyyed-Payam Hosseini, the 19-minute film will go on screen at the main competition program of the 18th edition of the Bulgarian event.

‘Runner’ narrates the story of a teenage boy named Hakim who lives in the suburbs.

Hakim’s father makes to run for wager money. He realizes the rules of the game have changed, only before the last match he should be attending.

The cast of the film includes Bakhtiyar Panjei, Farshid Gavili, Hassan Taraqqi, Ardeshir Khodadoust, Fereydoun Hamedi, Mardin Sheikhmoradi, Arian Moradian, and Zhovana Nasiri.

The film has already been shown at the Giffoni International Film Festival in Italy and the Zlin Film Festival in the Czech Republic.

Launched in 2005, the Early Bird International Student Film Festival is the biggest Bulgarian forum dedicated to support the creation of student short films.

The festival is fully devoted to help young filmmakers to reach their audience.

The 18th edition of the festival is slated to be held online due to the pandemic on November 1-5, 2022.
