Co-directed by Hessam Hosseini and Abbas Hosseinzadeh, ‘Mahakan’ is on the display at the main competition program of the 14th edition of the Bangladeshi event.
The film is the story of a family who forces their seven-year-old daughter to undertake the responsibility of the murder his father committed, saving her father's life from the death sentence.
“To save the father, a family forces their little girl to admit murder,” reads as a brief synopsis of ‘Mahakan’.
Bahar Hosseinzadeh, Ali Mohammad Radmanesh, Fatemeh Radmanesh, Sharareh Mansour Abadi and Hossein Fallah comprise the cast list of the flick.
‘Mahakan’ is the recipient of the best feature film director award from the 11th edition of the Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA) Awards.
Launched in 2007, The IIUSFF started its journey with the goal to provide a platform for young and talented student filmmakers in Bangladesh and overseas to showcase their talent.
The 2022 edition of the event is currently underway from October 11 -25.
