Mostra–Sao Paulo filmfest showing Iran’s ‘May You Cry’

The Mostra – Sao Paulo Int’l Film Festival in Brazil is screening Iran’s ‘May You Cry’.

The Mostra – Sao Paulo International Film Festival in Brazil has been screening Iranian movie ‘May You Cry’ (Why Don’t You Cry?).

Written and directed by Alireza Motamedi, the Iranian movie is going on screen at the New Directors Competition section of the Brazilian event.

Produced by Reza Mohaqqeq, ‘May You Cry’ is about a man who loses the ability to cry after the death of his younger brother.

As he deals with grief and the separation from his wife, he tries to reconcile his job at a football website with depression and a lack of meaning in life.

The cast list includes Baran Kosari, Hanieh Tavassoli, Fereshteh Hosseini, Mani Haqiqi, Ali Mosaffa, Linda Kiani, Nahal Dashti, Amir-Hossein Fathi, and the director.

The 46th edition of the Mostra – Sao Paulo has been slated for October 20-November 2, 2022.
