Dushanbe, the capital and largest city of Tajikistan, has hosted the Iranian and Tajik poets for reciting Persian poems.

Dushanbe, the capital and largest city of Tajikistan, has hosted the Iranian and Tajik poets for reciting Persian poems as the cities of Bakhtar, Khujand, and Dushanbe are currently hosting the cultural week of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran's Culture Week, which was kicked off on Monday, is underway in cities of Tajikistan, as well as in the country's national university, with about 80 Iranian artists presenting their works in painting, calligraphy, music, miniature painting, and Pahlavani arts.

Different Iranian and Tajik music players performed at the poets gathering. Iranian poet Alireza Ghazveh recited some poems too.

According to the Iranian Minister of Culture Mohammad-Mahdi Esmaeeli who was one of the guests at the event, the poets used the poems as a way to introduce Persian literature in Tajikistan and the region.

He said that when the Tajik poets talk about the solidarity of Iran and Tajikistan, they apply such a description as 'one soul in two bodies.
