Tennessee Williams’ play ‘I Can’t Imagine Tomorrow’ is currently on stage at Jamshid Mashayekhi Theater in Tehran.
‘I Can’t Imagine Tomorrow’ written by American playwright Tennessee Williams (1911-1983) is about a man and a woman who suffer from the commonness of their lives.
The play contains two characters named ‘one’ and ‘two’ who do not want to encounter any real situations. They spend time on card playing and watching the news on TV. One’s physical decline and the advance of life's destructive forces (like aging) urge her to get prepared for the unavoidable. Two does not want to face change and the fear of losing One leads him to a nervous breakdown.
The play is directed by Iranian theater director Saeed Shishegar.
The theatrical work will be performed until July 6 at Jamshid Mashayekhi Hall located at No. 1478, northwest of Vali-e-Asr Crossroad, Enqelab St.
