Iranian film ‘Parisa’ has won two awards at the Girona Film Festival in Spain.

Mohammadreza Rahmani’s  fourth directorial experience has grabbed the best film award at the 2022 edition of the event.

Also renowned Iranian actor Abbas Ghazali has received the special jury award of the festival.

“Parisa is a young attractive girl who works as a model for cosmetics brands. However, an anonymous person pours acid on her face resulting her to lose her beauty and one of her eyes,” a synopsis of the film reads.

Abbas Ghazali, Bahareh Afshari, Tarlan Parvaneh, Hamid Goudarzi, Shaghayegh Farahani and Maral Farjad star in the film.

The Girona Film Festival aims to give room to emerging filmmaking talents to flourish. The event will host around 400 films, including features, shorts, documentaries and animations.

This year’s edition of the event was held on November 8-13.
