‘Dabur’ awarded at Soria Short filmfest

Iranian short flick ‘Dabur’ has won an award at the Soria International Short Film in Spain.

Iranian short flick ‘Dabur’ has won an award at the Soria International Short Film in Spain.

Made by Iranian director Saeed Nejati, the film grabbed the Goya Award at the 24th edition of the event.

Coproduced by Nejat Film and a Turkish production company, the short fiction is co-written by the director and Fatemeh Ashari.

The social film is about the relation between a father and his teenage girl.

The cast list of the film includes Majid Potki, Mehrisadat Aleaqa and Feran Hassaninia.

‘Dabur’ has previously taken part in several international festivals, including the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh and the Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran.

The Soria Short Film Fest has the aim to promote short films as a way of audiovisual expression, contributing to its recognition, expansion, and putting it in value as an essential way of culture transmission.

The 24th edition of the festival was held on November 12-22, 2022.
