75 films apply for participation at 41st Fajr festival

Some 75 films have applied for participation at the 41st edition of the Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

The festival announced that the producers of 75 films filled out the online entry form in order to take part in the Iranian Cinema Competition of the 41st edition of the Fajr by the registration deadline of November 21.

The secretariat of the festival is currently checking whether the films comply with the pre-selection conditions or not.

The full version of the films that comply with the conditions will be later reviewed by the festival’s selection committee. The official selection is expected to be announced by January 5.

The festival will later announce the latest developments regarding the international competition section of the festival.

The Fajr Film Festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 41st edition of the festival, headed by Mojtaba Amini, will take place on February 1-10.
