Iran’s ‘Roya’ awarded at Five Continents

Iranian short film ‘Roya’ (Dream) has grabbed three awards at the Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela.

‘Roya’, directed by Mohammadreza Mohammadi, was named Best Social Short Film in the October edition of the festival.

It was also named ​Best Screenplay Short Film and received Special Mention Production Short Film.

The film is about a young Afghan couple who tries to illegally enter Europe, but faces various challenges.

‘Roya’ is currently taking part in the Euroshorts Young Filmmakers international film festival in Poland.

The film previously took part in the 73rd Montecatini International Short Film Festival in Italy.

Five Continents International Film Festival is an online, monthly festival.

It accepts feature films, short films, videoclips, webseries and video arts from all over the world.
