Mirza Issa passes away in iFilm English TV’s historical series ‘Tabriz in Fog’.

“Can you find a heart without sorrow? Without sadness? My sad heart is not feeling well. I’m fed up with all this betrayal. I feel my life is coming to an end. I never had any worldly wealth. All I ever had, I had within me; a happy heart,” Mirza Issa said just before the sunset of his life.

“Just remember commander, this nation is not to be ruled by a bunch of selfish people. This nation was given to us in trust. It has an owner … don’t fail us. Make us proud,” he said as his final advice to Abbas Mirza.

Directed by Mohammad-Reza Varzi, ‘Tabriz in Fog’ takes place in the 19th century, when European imperial powers are immersed in colonial wars of aggression, with Iran caught in the middle.

The French and English, each plot and manipulate to gain control over the king of Iran, while the Russian army mounts an attack against the country.

As the King stumbles along, he seems more interested in the pleasures of life in the palace than the welfare of the country. But in the province of Tabriz, the Crown Prince fights valiantly to keep the Russian invaders at bay.
