First autumn snow arrives in Tehran

The first autumn snow has transformed a number of Iranian provinces, including Alborz and Tehran into a winter wonderland.

Parts of Tehran along with different cities of Alborz Province witnessed first autumn snow on Sunday morning, resulting in the closure of schools.

In Tehran, temperatures plunged to 2°C on Sunday, making it the capital’s coldest night of the year, while other provinces experienced temperatures as low as -1°C.

The first snowfall in Tehran brings with it beautiful snowcapped mountains and areas cloaked in white.

The province of Tehran is host to seven major ski resorts including Tochal, Dizin, Shemshak, Darbandsar, and Ab-Ali which are a heaven for Iranian skiers.
