Amin al-Din Jebrael Shrine: A glory of ancient art in Iran

The mausoleum of Amin al-Din Jebrael Ardabili in Iran’s Ardabil is a fine example of ancient Persian and Islamic art and architecture.

With a history dating back to 500 years ago, the mausoleum of Amin al-Din Jebrael Ardabili in Iran’s Ardabil Province is a fine example of ancient Persian and Islamic art and architecture.  

Located in the Kalkhoran Village in Ardabil, Sheikh Amin al-Din Jibrael Ardabili’s shrine is highly valued and respected by the people of the region so many people visit the shrine on weekends.

The octagonal structure of the shrine was built in the early tenth century and its decoration and architecture are very similar to the shrine of Jibrael Ardabili’s son, Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili.

The simplicity of decorative and artistic work on the walls and the ceilings are very soothing for the visitors.

The wooden door at the main entrance decorated with tiles and epigraphy Kufic inscriptions has artistic carvings that are quite valuable.

The Sheikh Amin al-Din Jibrael Mausoleum is considered a masterpiece of Safavid Architecture.

This historical monument has been registered in the list of national monuments of Iran.
