‘Loopetou’ nominated at Ammar filmfest

Iranian animation ‘Loopetou’ has been nominated at the Ammar Popular Film Festival.

Iranian animation ‘Loopetou’ has been nominated at the Ammar Popular Film Festival.

Produced by Mohammad-Hossein Sadeqi and directed by Abbas Askari, the animated piece was announced as a nominee of the Animation section of the 2023 edition of the event.

"Ali's father treats his patients by teaching them how to make toys in the workshop of Lopeto.

Due to vandalism by an unidentified individual, Lopeto, a popular creative toy workshop among Iranian children, has been forced to close.

Ali tries to save his father, who is disappointed, from this predicament...,” a short synopsis for the animation reads.

The APFF goes against the promotion of “individualism and extreme enjoyment without caring about the society's troubles and other human suppression,” the event’s official website noted.

The festival also enjoys an international version (AIPFF) which aims “to raise real awareness and responsibility among the general public,” the AIPFF website reads, adding that the event’s mission is to create an atmosphere in which independent filmmakers and thinkers can gather together.

The 13th edition of the festival is scheduled for January 4 – 13, 2023.
