The 41st Fajr Int'l Theater Festival has been warmly welcomed by global artists.

The 41st Fajr International Theater Festival, which was opened in Vahdat hall in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on January 21, has been warmly welcomed by artists.

The opening ceremony of the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival kicked off in the presence of Mahmoud Salari, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Kazem Nazari, Director-General of Performing Arts, Kourosh Zarei, Festival Secretary, and a number of artists and cultural and artistic directors at Vahdat Hall.

A special part of this ceremony was the commemoration of Saeed Tashakkori and stage and screen actor Ali Soleimani, two late figures of Iranian theater.

The capital city of Iran hosted some 12 plays on the first day of the 41st edition of the Fajr International Theater Festival.

On the second day of the Fajr Int’l Theater Festival, Iraqi artists performed a play entitled Talqatol-Rahmat directed by Mohammad Moayed.

In the street play section, 'Endless Road', which is written and directed by Heshmatullah Zarei, focused on the Iran-Iraq war veteran's sports life.

'Endless Road' is about a veteran who succeeds to win the Paralympic gold medal. The athlete in the story donated his medal to ever hero Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani who encouraged the veteran to resume his sport.

The play has been made based on a true story.

Iran Press news agency reported on behalf of one of the actors of the play, Mohammad-Reza Mesbahzadeh that the 'Endless Road' has been written and played based on General Qassem Soleimani's letter to one of his soldiers who lost his courage after being injured in the war.

The Fajr International Theater Festival is to host 40 plays in the national competition, and 23 troupes will give performances in the international competition.

Foreign troupes from Brazil, Russia, Oman, Spain, Iraq, Armenia, Tunisia, and Jordan have taken part in the artistic event. Several theater experts from Ireland, Serbia, Algeria and Russia will hold workshops during the festival, which will run until January 31.

The event features a scientific section during which twenty papers from ten Muslim countries are slated to be presented on January 27 and 28.

Also, the judges of some sections, including the street and stage sections of the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival were introduced at the event.
