41st Fajr Theater Fest proposes Islamic World Theater Union

The Meeting on forming of the Islamic World Theater Union has been held at the 41st Fajr International Theater Festival (TIFT).

The specialized meeting was based on 6 important polars of "Knowing the capabilities of theater", "Cross-border activities in the Islamic world countries in the field of theater", "Philosophy of theater in Islamic countries", "Examining the problems and obstacles of theater in Islamic countries", "Applicable theoretical solutions in the growth and promotion of theater in Islamic countries" and "Creating the field of joint cooperation in theater in Islamic countries".

A number of scientific articles from Iraq, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Iran were submitted to the meeting. Besides, the capacities of theater in Islamic countries were examined from different aspects during the seminar.

A total of 34 people from eight different countries participated in the seminar. The meeting was held on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

The 2023 FITF, presided by Iranian actor and director Kourosh Zarei, is underway in Tehran until January 31.
