The 41st Fajr Int'l Film Festival in Iran has screened 'High Power' and ‘Mud Room’ on the 8th day of the major cinematic event in the country.

Tehran-based Pardis Mellat Cineplex hosted the screenings on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

‘Mud Room’ (Otaghak Geli) by Mohammad Ali Asgari and produced by Davoud Sabouri, narrates the story of Mersad Operation carried out by a brigade of brave Iranian soldiers who protected Shian, a village in Kermanshah Province against the MKO terrorists

The village was eventually saved at the cost of the martyrdom of a number of the soldiers.

Saeed Dashti, Saeed Zaree, Masoud Shami, Tinou Salehi, and Navid Pourfaraj appeared in the film.

On the 8th day of the festival, Hadi Mohammad Pour’s 'High Power' was screened. It is themed on the innovative plan of Martyr General Mansour Sattari during the Iraq-Iran war in 'Wal-Fajr 8' operation.

According to a short note in the 'High Power' presser, the director said that his film features martyr Sattari as a practical and dedicated man.

On February 9, 1986, and during the Sacred Defense of Iran against the Iraqi Ba'athist war, Iran launched Operation 'Wal-Fajr 8' across the Shatt al-Arab (Arvand Rud) river defending the strategic al-Faw peninsula, which connects Iraq to the Persian Gulf.

The Iranians defeated the Iraqi force.

Atabak Naderi, Farzad Hassani, Aliram Nouraee, and Sepideh Khodvardi make the cast team of 'High Power'.

The Fajr International Film Festival will run until February 11, 2023 in Tehran in two competitive sections and one non-competitive section.

Priority will be given to films dealing with topics seeking justice, discouraging oppression, arrogance, global terrorism, violence, and extremism, encouraging Islamic awakening, transcendent lifestyle, family, and human rights, highlighting moral, spiritual, and religious teachings, and fighting discrimination.

This year, the domestic and international versions of the Fajr film festival will be once again held as part of one event titled “Fajr International Film Festival” after five editions of separate versions.

The Fajr festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The event has screened many preserved classics from Iran cinema in previous runs of the international film event annually held in Iran.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
