Iranians celebrate birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (PBUH)

Millions of Iranians have celebrated the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (AS).

Millions of Iranians across the country have held ceremonies to mark the birth anniversary of the twelfth and last Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (May God hasten his reappearance).

Every year on the 15th of Sha’ban on the lunar calendar, millions of Shia Muslim pilgrims from Iran and other countries converge at holy shrines and mosques especially Jamkaran Mosque near the holy city of Qom to celebrate the start of the twelfth Shia Imam's leadership.

They also attend passionate eulogies and distribute votive refreshments.

The streets are also decorated and lighted up across the country.

Imam Mahdi was born on the 15th day of the month of Sha’ban around 1,200 years ago.

Shia Muslims believe that Imam Madi (AS) is alive, living among the people, and expecting the permission of God to reappear to establish justice.

In that event, iFilm English website has published a music video featuring a song vocalized by Masoud Tavakkoli about the celebrated occasion. Watch and enjoy.
