Catch good vibes from fire fest in Iran village

People of Navasar in East Azarbaijan Province have a unique way to celebrate Chaharshanbe Souri.

People of Navasar in Hurand County of East Azarbaijan Province have a unique way to celebrate the last Tuesday of the Iranian calendar year or Chaharshanbe Souri (Festival of Fire).

The festival is celebrated in a way free from the modern urban hustle and bustle and with no fireworks involved.

In the mountainous village, rural women bake traditional cookies and gather together to listen to their local songs and watch youngsters play games and jump over the fire.

Chaharshanbeh Souri, which marks the arrival of spring, is an ancient Persian festival.
