Say hello to local Iranian Gando

One of the famous attractions of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan is Gando.

One of the famous attractions of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan is Gando which is a Baluchi word for crocodile meaning "walking on the belly".

Gandos have broad snouts and small legs. The habitat of the crocodile extends from eastern India to Pakistan and some regions in Iran.

Sistan and Baluchestan Province is the only habitat of Gandos in Iran, and they mostly live in the protected areas of Bahoukalat, Sarbaz River, and Kaju.

This type of crocodile is shy, cautious, and timid, making it difficult to spot.

When the animal senses danger, it sinks into the water and hides, but it must promptly return to the surface to breathe.

The breeding of Gando provides an important capacity to create employment and promote tourism.
