Iran discovers million-year-old fossils

Iranian researchers have discovered several million-year-old plant and animal fossils in Natanz.

These fossils include plant species and marine animals belonging to the third geological period of 12 to 40 million years ago.

This region was registered on the National Heritage List last year.

With 16 registered natural works, Natanz city has the first rank in Isfahan's natural heritage registers.

The city of Natanz in the central province of Isfahan is known as the garden city of Iran.

The city has more than 1,800 historical monuments, 120 of which have been registered on Iran’s National Heritage List.
