Chai Chorak under spotlight

Chai Chorak from Iran's Zanjan is highly consumed during holy month of Ramadan.

Chai Chorak (tea bread), a product of Iran's city of Zanjan, is highly consumed during Islam’s holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Chai Chorak is made of flour, water, sugar, milk, egg, oil and sesame.

Worshippers in Zanjan prefer to break their fast with this bread during Ramadan.

During the holy month, Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset.

The worshippers break their fast with the evening meal called “iftar”.
