Turkish envoy equates Tehran Book Fair to major Int’l events

Turkish ambassador compares Tehran Int’l Book Fair to prestigious literary gatherings.

Turkish Ambassador to Tehran, Hicabi Kirlangic, has drawn parallels between the Tehran International Book Fair and renowned literary gatherings such as those held in Frankfurt and Cairo.

In a statement made on Friday, Kirlangic emphasized the significance of the Iranian book fair, highlighting his participation as a speaker during the event.

Notably, Kirlangic, who has translated the Divan of Hafez—a collection of poems by the renowned Iranian poet Hafez Shirazi (1325–1390)—commended the decision to hold the fair at the Imam Khomeini Mosque, underscoring its commendable nature.

Furthermore, the ambassador highlighted the translation project initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, which aims to introduce Turkish authors to the Iranian audience. This international endeavor serves as a means of fostering cultural exchange between the two nations.

The 34th edition of the Tehran International Book Fair is currently taking place in the Iranian capital from May 20 to May 30, 2023.

In addition to its physical presence, the fair is accessible online through the website address: https://ketab.ir/
