The 14th day of Khordad in the Iranian calendar marks the anniversary of the demise of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Moussavi Khomeini, known as Imam Khomeini.

He was born in 1902 in Khomein, Iran, and upon his death on June 3, 1989, he left an unforgettable legacy as an advocate of Islamic unity and social justice.
