Transilvania filmfest in Romania screening Iranian ‘The Actor’

Iranian series ‘The Actor’ has been going on screen at the 2023 Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) in Romania.

Directed by Nima Javidi, the first two episodes of the series are on screen at the Coming Up Next section of the Romanian event.

‘The Actor’ tells the story of Ali and Morteza, two naturally gifted but unemployed thespians, who perform for wealthy people to surprise their guests.

But surprises can sometimes turn astray, and soon enough Ali and Morteza catch the attention of a mysterious agency.

Notable among the cast members are Ahmad Mehranfar, Navid Mohammadzadeh and Hasti Mahdavifar.

Founded in 2002, the TIFF is the first and largest international film festival in Romania and one of the most important film events in the region, with over 100,000 participants at each edition.

This year’s edition of the event has been underway since June 9 and will wrap up on June 18.
