Luol Ahmed, a Ghanaian citizen and US resident, said he was sleeping in a tent close to the temporary accommodation of Iranian pilgrims.
While being highly impressed by Iranians' exceptional hospitality, Ahmed praised their attentiveness and remarked, "They gave us everything that we needed and took care of us."
He noted that he also took part in an event held by the Iranian pilgrims on the occasion of the Day of Arafah that falls on the 9th day of the lunar Islamic Calendar month of Dhu al-Hijjah, noting that it was calling for “unity” and tolerance among Muslims.
“It was a very good program,” Ahmed stated.
He wished to attend such events again during the next year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
The Hajj pilgrimage is one of the pillars of Islam. Able-bodied Muslims who can afford it must perform it at least once in their lifetime.
