Poverty accounts for drug dealing in ‘Coast Guard’

Chief of police is to propose new ideas to stop drug dealing in iFilm English TV’s ‘Coast Guard’.

Following the misfortunate event that took a police chief’s life, the heads of police headquarters sit for a meeting to investigate the murder and find ways to stop drug cartels.

Officer Esmaeeli is also summoned to attend the meeting to shed light upon the murder of commander Mohammadi. Yet, he takes his chance of being asked to take part in such an important meeting to express his sight on the reason behind drug dealers activities in the region.

He takes unemployment responsible for the youth to become petty dealers. The novice dealers are spotted by the police and get arrested, while the cartel masters are not recognized and can run away.

Directed by Mohsen Shah-Mohammadi and produced by Houman Kabiri, ‘Coast Guard’ goes on air every night at 20:00 GMT.

In the series, in a port in the south of Iran, a successful factory owner, Akbar Amini, goes missing.

His newly-wed daughter and son-in-law have come all the way from Tehran to look for him but it looks like they'll have to go through smugglers and drug dealers first!
