The 17th edition of Tehran Auction has been held in Iran, with Sohrab Sepehri’s work grossing the highest.

This year’s edition of the auction that was representing modern and contemporary Iranian art was conducted on July, 21 in Tehran.

The Azadi Hotel was selected as the venue for the event and the total sale of 4,224,200 USD was achieved, which once again proved that this economic art event has achieved its goal of delivering prosperity to the country's art market.

The auction offered 110 works by 100 artists consisting of 97 paintings, 9 sculptures and 4 photographs. The 154 registered bidders, of which %40 were first time buyers purchased a total of 100 works.

The auctioneer of the artistic event was Iranian actor Hossein Pakdel, who you should remember from ‘Of Fate and Destiny’.

The item that earned the highest revenue of 426,000 USD was an untitled work by late Iranian poet and artist Sohrab Sepehri.
