Touching photo from ‘Mother’ director’s last birthday

A heart-touching photo from the last birthday party of the Iranian director of iFilm movie ‘Mother’, Ali Hatami, before his death has recently circulated by the country’s media, arousing his fans’ emotions.

The photo shows Hatami sitting beside the world-famous filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami during his last birthday.

Hatami died in December 1996 at the age of 52 after a battle with cancer.

Besides ‘Mother’, he made various movies and series, including ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’, ‘Jafar Khan Returns from Abroad’, ‘The Devoted’ and ‘Hezar Dastan’.

Hatami passed away before completing the film ‘Takhti, the World Champion’.

He is survived by his wife Zahra Khoshkam, an actress and his daughter Leila Hatami, who is an actress and the wife of the prominent actor, Ali Mosaffa.
