Iran's national television set to air 'Ashura' miniseries

The miniseries 'Ashura' is to premiere on Channel One of Iran's national television starting August 18th.

In a recent announcement from the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) public relations, the 7-episode miniseries 'Ashura' is set to premiere on Friday, August 18th, at 22:15 Tehran time.

This long-awaited mini-series, written and directed by Hadi Hejazifar, will be exclusively broadcasted on Channel One of Iran's national television.

'Ashura' delves into the narratives of martyrs Mehdi and Hamid Bakri, paying homage to the valiant endeavors of the distinguished warriors from the 31st Ashura Division.

This series showcases their remarkable sacrifices and heroism, resonating with the nation's collective memory of their courageous acts.

The visionary mind behind 'Ashura’, Hejazifar, previously directed a cinematic rendition entitled 'The Situation of Mehdi’.

This cinematic portrayal made an impactful debut at the 40th Fajr Film Festival, garnering recognition across 14 categories and clinching five awards, including the Crystal Simorgh for Best Film.

'The Situation of Mehdi' etched its name in the annals of Iranian cinema history, standing as the highest-grossing film of the Sacred Defense genre.

This notable achievement earned commendation and praise from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

'The Situation of Mehdi’, produced by Habibollah Valinejad, shows the life journey of Mehdi Bakeri, the commander of the IRGC 31st Ashura Division, celebrated for spearheading numerous pivotal operations during the imposed eight-year war against the Iranian nation.  

'Ashura’ boasts an exceptional ensemble cast, including Hadi Hejazifar, Zhila Shahi, Vahid Hejazifar, Masoumeh Rabbaninia, Vahid Aghapour and Rouhollah Zamani.

The production of 'Ashura' is overseen by Abolfazl Safari, assuring an unforgettable television experience that will capture the hearts and minds of viewers nationwide.
